About the Competition
In the past half century, fatherhood has undergone significant transformations unlike any other period in recorded history. Modern fathers are actively engaged in family life, dedicating three times more time to their children compared to the 1970s.
Today's dads embrace their role with enthusiasm, supporting pregnancy, attending antenatal appointments, and being present during childbirth. They have evolved to be much more nurturing, actively fostering their children's emotional development.
To celebrate this remarkable evolution of fatherhood, the PREPARE Foundation holds an annual photographic competition. This competition aims to showcase the diverse roles of the modern dad.
We are particularly interested in genuine images that portray the unfiltered reality of childbirth and fatherhood, highlighting both the joyful and loving aspects, as well as the inevitable hardships and challenges.
Join us in celebrating the multifaceted experience of contemporary fatherhood and contribute your images to redefine and honour the essence of being a modern dad.
Prizes
There will be a total of 5 prizes in 2 categories –
Category 1: Birth support
Category 2: Perinatal fatherhood (0-1yo)

Judging
The judging panel are perinatal professionals from a range of disciplines. The judging panel reserves the right not to award a prize in a category if the images submitted do not meet the expectations of the panel.
Guidelines
The intention of this competition is to feature fathers in care giving roles during the perinatal period. If a child is clearly older than one your photo will not be eligible. Note: Pics with children older that one in the same frame as a dad and his newborn are acceptable.
• Individuals may enter only 5 photos into the contest. All 5 photos may be in the same category or in different categories.
• The entrant must possess the full rights to the images submitted.
• The entrant is responsible for obtaining the appropriate consent for use of the image, if required.
• By submitting a photo you grant the PREPARE Foundation and judging organisations a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt, distribute and communicate to the public that credited photo for non commercial purposes.
• The PREPARE Foundation and judging organisations will not be liable for any third party misuse of images.
