Amanda Liddell

Amanda is a registered midwife, the lead educator for Disability Maternity Care and a motherto three teenagers. She has been a midwife and educator for 13 years, working in a large tertiary hospital in Sydney.  Before finding her way into midwifery, she had a long and specialised career in the Police Force, working in child protection, domestic violence and sexual assault.

Amanda has amassed diverse skills and is able to employ creative strategies to effect change by combining her two passions, midwifery and teaching, whilst protecting and prioritising parent advocacy and empowerment. Steve Kennedy

In 2017 Steven Kennedy embarked on a journey of post traumatic growth and transformation after the life threatening birth of his son. Leaving behind a senior public service role in risk management , he took a leap of faith and founded the registered charity, the PREPARE Foundation. Simultaneously, Steven nurtured the establishment of Birthing Dads, a progressive and globally unique social enterprise.

Both organizations share a common mission: to revolutionize how men approach the momentous occasion of their first child’s birth. Guided by extensive personal research and a steadfast belief, Steven is certain that by providing targeted resources, specifically tailored to first-time fathers, we can greatly improve childbirth outcomes and therefore early family life for billions of people.

In addition to his philanthropic endeavors, Steven’s background as an actor in theater, film, and television adds a unique dimension to his creative work. Through a series of innovative resources, he aims to inspire men to actively invest in the relationships they share with their partner. By raising awareness of the profound impact their involvement has on the growth and development of their children fathers can foster stronger connections within families.

Beyond childbirth, Steven’s vision extends to a society where the sharing of birth wisdom among men is normalized, becoming an integral part of our collective narrative. Steven’s ultimate goal is to inspire the next generation of fathers, empowering them to make positive contributions during pregnancy, at the birth of their child, and throughout the crucial first year of their baby’s life.

As a catalyst for change, Steven Kennedy is dedicated to creating a brighter future for families, where bonds are strengthened and children flourish. Together, we can shape a world where fathers embrace their roles with dedication and love, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
